Common questions
Will the bells still ring if my phone locks?
Yes. Sodo plays the whole session as one continuous audio track, the way a podcast app does, so you can lock the phone and turn it face down. Every bell and clapper still sounds on time.
- Keep the media volume up before you start. On iPhone, the bells play even with the Ring/Silent switch set to silent.
- Do not swipe Sodo away in the app switcher during a session. That closes the app and ends the session.
- Starting a session pauses music or podcasts playing in other apps.
- On some Android phones, strict battery saving can stop apps in the background. If the bells stop, set Sodo's battery use to "Unrestricted" in your phone's app settings (the wording varies by manufacturer).
How do I restore my purchase on a new or reset phone?
Purchases belong to your Apple or Google account, not to Sodo, so there is nothing to sign in to.
- Make sure the phone is signed in to the same Apple Account or Google account you used to buy.
- Open Sodo, go to its settings and tap Restore purchases.
Purchases do not move between the two stores: a purchase made on iPhone unlocks Sodo on your other Apple devices, and one made on Google Play unlocks it on your other Android devices.
How do I cancel my subscription or ask for a refund?
Subscriptions and refunds are handled by the store you bought from, so we cannot cancel or refund them for you.
- iPhone or iPad: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. For a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Android: open the Google Play app, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. For a refund, go to your Google Play order history.
Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Tip: use Do Not Disturb while you sit
Turn on Do Not Disturb (on iPhone, a Focus) before you begin, so messages and calls don't break the silence. Sodo's bells are played as media, not as notifications, so Do Not Disturb does not mute them.
On iPhone this works without any changes. Most Android phones let media play during Do Not Disturb by default; if yours doesn't, allow "Media" in its Do Not Disturb settings.
Does Sodo collect any of my data?
No. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking and no ads, and your sessions and settings stay on your phone. Read the privacy policy.
